Psychotherapy

Cathy has been working with clients psychologically for over 30 years in her shamanic healing practice. In 2015, she decided to seek further training and returned to graduate school for an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. After 3 years of working as an Outpatient Therapist at a Community Mental Health Center, she opened her private practice full time.

Her therapy practice weaves together a variety of trauma-informed modalities
including EMDR, Mindfulness, CBT, Psychodynamic, Somatic, Transpersonal, with a Strengths-based approach.  She is also an IFS-Informed (Internal Family Systems) therapist. In safe and sacred space, she guides her clients to explore challenges, get to know parts of self, unwind patterns, express feelings, and discover new insights, passions and awareness.  Clients describe her as grounded, compassionate, intuitive, kind and non-judgmental.

We are living in unprecedented times filled with great challenge and incredible opportunity for growth. Global and personal events can leave us feeling isolated, disconnected, anxious and depressed. We search for meaning and purpose amidst the overwhelm of loss, transition, disease, and chronic pain. We witness tragic events daily as we see and experience the effects of climate change, political unrest, mass shootings, and the dissolution of social structures. This chaos can both trigger personal trauma and be the grit that moves us toward greater awareness and freedom. Support, connection, compassion and skilled guidance can help us forge new pathways in our lives, our brains and our bodies. We then have more capacity to reclaim our inherent joy, creativity and the power to build a positive light-filled future.

Whether we realize it or not, we are intrinsically connected to all Life. When one of us heals, we all do. Cathy finds great joy in helping people find their true selves and become more empowered, peaceful and balanced. As we mend our separation from Self, each other, and Earth, we create a more sustainable world. Shall we venture on this journey together?

Cathy offers In-person Sessions at her office in Amherst, MA, as well as Teletherapy. Some insurances accepted as well as a sliding scale fee.
